Real Neat Blog Award Nomination

Upon opening my WordPress app on the first day of October–I was surprised when a blog comment notification showed up from Dear Kitty. Some Blog. She told me that I have a Real Neat Blog Award Nomination. Since I was a nominee, she has 7 questions for me to answer.

1. Where do most visits to your blog come from?

Most visits come from my country, the Philippines, narrowing down to my city, Davao, then narrowing down more to the org which I’m very proud to be part of, the Davao Bloggers Society, and also visits from my friends, whom I’m expecting much support. Yes, when you start a blog and you’re not yet sure about your niche or if you can’t get enough leads, you can rely on your friends and family. I even required my boyfriend to have at least 1 comment for every blogpost. LOL

2. What is your favorite sport?

Oh my to be honest, I had to google Sports because I’m not really fond of it. I looked into it and if I were to choose, I’d just go for Weightlifting and Marching Band (yes, it was included on the Sports Wikipedia page). I was a part of our school’s marching band when I was in the 4th grade until the 6th grade, so who would’ve thought that I’ve been sporty as a kid?

3. What has been a special moment for you so far in 2018?

There are two, actually. One is my about taking a step back to reflect on things. This year has been a tough one for me, and for many months, I’ve been down and full of tears, but they served as a reminder for me to think things through and to be more grateful for what I have and to the people who love me.

Another special thing that happened this year is my comeback to the blogosphere and being an official member of the Davao Bloggers Society. This is what really helped me stand up after all the depression. Writing, attending events, and socializing was the key to better my mental health.

4. What is your favorite quote?

“All things are subject to interpretation. Whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.”
– Friedrich Nietzsche

“Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone, just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages you’ve had.”
– father of Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

5. What was your favorite class when still at school?

I loved my English and Filipino classes when I was still in school. Not the technical language study, but the application and literature.

6. Anything you had wished to have learned earlier?

I regret that I didn’t review and take the board exams for Real Estate brokership. To be honest, I’m still not interested in it, but it can really be of good use to me in the future or even at present. Now, the rules have changed. If I wanna be a licensed broker, I have to study again for 4 years. Damn.

Life-wise, so far, it’s been a ride and I’m already quite in place that there are almost no regrets (except for the one above). I’ve had really really tough times, but it is not without reflection and learning that I had to go through them. They made me what I am right now, albeit almost wanting to give up, I survived!

7. What musical instrument have you tried to play?

In particular order of time: harmonica, piano, flute, classical guitar, electric guitar, bass, synthesizer

I wanna thank Dear Kitty. Some Blog once again for noticing my blog and for nominating me in her Real Neat Blog Award. You should check out her blog as it is very informative and thought-provoking, especially with regards to world and societal issues.
