Samsung’s New Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G: AI-Powered Awesomeness for Everyone
The new Galaxy A series smartphones bring first-ever Awesome Intelligence, advanced camera features, and enhanced durability
Samsung is stepping up its game again with the launch of the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G—and this time, they’re bringing AI-powered features to the Galaxy A series for the first time! That means you get Awesome Intelligence (yes, that’s what they’re calling it) right in your hands, making your smartphone experience smarter, more creative, and more secure. These new devices are also tougher, faster, and longer-lasting.

“The new Galaxy A series marks an important step in our mission of AI for all, by opening Galaxy’s incredible mobile AI experiences to even more people around the world,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With these awesome new features and capabilities, we are excited to unlock limitless creativity on the Galaxy A series while ensuring a safe, reliable, and fun mobile experience.”
Awesome Intelligence for Advanced Search and Creativity
Awesome Intelligence is the first comprehensive mobile AI exclusively available on the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G. It delivers powerful, fun, and easy-to-use AI tools. Powered by One UI 7.0, the new Awesome Intelligence features enhance search and visual experiences for Galaxy A series users.
As a fan-favorite from last year, Google’s enhanced Circle to Search, makes it easier for users to search and discover directly from the phone’s screen. With the latest upgrades, users can now get even more done—Circle to Search can instantly recognize phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs, allowing them to take action with a single tap.
With the recent enhancements to Circle to Search, you can also instantly search for songs you hear without switching apps. Whether it’s a song playing on social media from your phone or music playing from nearby speakers, you just have to long-press the navigation bar, tap the music button, and effortlessly identify the song name and artist.

Here’s what I was amazed by the most. If you’re getting the Galaxy A56 5G, the Best Face feature makes it easier to capture the perfect group shot by selecting and combining the best expressions or features for up to five people from a motion photo. So if ever someone blinked and looked away in a photo, you just have to click on that face, and choose their best look to combine to the best shot. That way, everyone looks picture perfect.
For the night owls out there, the Galaxy A56 5G also enhances Nightography with Low Noise Mode for the 12MP selfie camera and additional wide-camera support to capture stunning content in low-light settings.

Have you ever taken a great photo just to get ruined by a random photobomber? The Object Eraser tool lets you clean up your shots by removing distractions with just a few taps. And if you love playing around with aesthetics, Filters lets you create your own custom filters from existing photos, so if you want your pics to have a consistent, aesthetic vibe, Samsung has got you covered.
Built to Last With Upgraded Displays and Software Longevity

Now let’s talk about longevity. Nobody wants a phone that feels outdated in just a year. Here’s great news for you: Samsung is now promising six years of Android OS and One UI updates and security updates, which is longer support than some flagship phones get.
For the display, models come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen that hits 1200 nits of brightness, so you’ll have no problem using your phone in bright sunlight. You’ll also have a more imminent viewing experience that will seem like you’re a part of what you’re watching. Plus, stereo speakers mean better sound for videos, music, and gaming.

Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, the entire lineup is designed to keep up with users’ daily routines. Both the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G support 45W charging power and Super Fast Charge 2.0 technology to deliver faster charging for extended use.
Performance-wise, the Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the Exynos 1580 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 5G features the Snapdragon® 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. These chips help sustain the device performance to ensure smooth gameplay, video playback, and effortless multitasking.
But let’s also talk about durability. The new Galaxy A series is built to withstand life’s unpredictable moments. Both the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G feature an IP67 dust and water resistance rating for strong protection against the elements. Its Corning® Glass cover material adds extra durability against scratches and cracks.
Privacy and Control
Samsung is stepping up security with Samsung Knox Vault. Basicallh, it keeps your sensitive data extra safe. And with One UI 7.0, you get more security features like Auto Blocker, Theft Detection, and customizable security settings, so you have more control over your privacy.

The new Galaxy A series is available in a range of colors:
- Galaxy A56 5G: Awesome Light Gray, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Pink
- Galaxy A36 5G: Awesome Lavender, Awesome Black, and Awesome White
The Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G will be available in the Philippines starting March 17, 2025, at Samsung Experience Stores and partner retailers. They will also be available in the Samsung Online Store by March 24, 2025.
