ZTE Blade A75 5G Review: An Entry-Level Phone with Midrange Features
ZTE Blade A75 5G Review: Consider the Smart Exclusive 5G smartphone your secondary phone or a thoughtful gift for your parents or grandparents, if not your primary device.
In the past few years, I have had relationships with several types of smartphones. I have a budget phone, which I used for an exclusive app as a food merchant (before I quit the business), a sub-flagship phone for content and daily activities, and a midrange phone for my extra needs. Hence, it would be easy for me to compare several smartphone types based on their features and cost.
Before we go to the review I want to share something. It was only early this year that I discovered that popular midrange smartphones available in the Philippines, ranging from 8,000PHP to 13,000PHP, are not yet powered by 5G. I might have expected too much; I thought that it would be crucial for these midrange phones to operate in 5G, given that the price range might be pretty expensive for many Filipinos.
Thankfully, Smart Communications and ZTE have partnered to make 5G more accessible. Smart has always aimed to include every Filipino in the digital revolution, and releasing the ZTE Blade A75 5G is a key step in achieving that goal.
Before its smartphone expansion, ZTE was primarily known as a router brand, so you can expect that the ZTE Blade A75 5G’s network connectivity would be top-notch, especially since it is powered by Smart.
Based on my observations, I would categorize the ZTE Blade A75 as an entry-level feature phone. Its main feature and selling point is that it’s the most affordable 5G phone at 5,450PHP. Apart from its primary feature, the phone boasts several other aspects that make it worth more than your money.
ZTE Blade A75 5G Review: The Look and Feel
ZTE Blade A75 5G comes in diamond black and mint green. Before I got the phone, I hoped for the mint green one as it was the girly, but I was given the black one. Regardless, I was delighted to see how beautifully it sparkled with its sophisticated sky mirror glass design.
The back camera design is also exquisite; people may mistake it for a flagship phone. Overall, the phone looks so beautiful and striking. The package includes a free transparent case and screen protector, but you can confidently hold the phone without them, as it has a non-slip design.

ZTE Blade A75 5G Review: The Premium Features
Apart from the ZTE Blade A75 5G’s 5G capability, let’s review each feature that makes the phone superior, given its affordable price point.
6.6″ 720p IPS LCD Display and 120hz refresh rate
As I set up the ZTE Blade A75 5G, it’s apparent that the phone is steps ahead of many midrange phones. It’s seamless compared to them (they typically lag when downloading different apps simultaneously).
The ZTE Blade A75 5G’s 120hz refresh rate is astonishing. That means you can use the phone for multitasking, as mentioned above when downloading apps at once. The phone has a 50% higher refresh rate than my sub-flagship device, which only runs at 60hz. At 5,450PHP, the ZTE Blade 5G’s price is a tiny fraction of it.
The phone has the Asphalt Nitro 2 game, a pretty heavy and RAM-inducing app. The game started quickly, and I was able to play it smoothly despite receiving several messages from Facebook Messenger in the background.
50 MP rear and 8 MP selfie camera
I took pictures of the ZTE Blade A75 5G indoors, and they were pretty decent, given that I had terrible lighting in the room. Using the night mode, the pictures I took in the dark processed beautifully, giving me a wonderful image of the night. The 50MP dual camera also includes a bokeh depth camera for portrait and focus.

A 50MP camera is no joke, especially at its price point. I’m pretty sure that the target buyer for this phone would be more than satisfied with the photos taken. The 8MP selfie was even stunning, which I didn’t expect. After taking each image, the camera has AI capabilities, which process the photo for a few seconds to improve it automatically.

Other Great Features
At its price point, I was happy to see that it has a side fingerprint lock, facial recognition, and gestures that are considered a gem for midrange phones priced at at least 10,000PHP.
The Average Features
Given its price point, I still consider the ZTE Blade A75 5G’s “average” features to be premium.
5000mAh 10W Battery
A 5000mAh battery is decent for this phone, and the 10W charger, albeit far behind midrange phones, just suits the ZTE Blade A75 5G price.

4GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage
Depending on phone use, this feature is more than enough for its intended audience. The 120hz refresh rate ultimately supports this, and the 4GB RAM is a feature more than fitting for its price.
DTS Audio with 3.5mm headphone jack
For my taste, the ZTE Blade A75 5G’s speaker audio was a sacrifice for its other premium features, such as the 5G, but I doubt its target buyers would mind. The 3.5mm headphone jack is something I envy, given that many sub-flagship and flagship phones today have discarded it completely.
