Leading on-demand delivery platform Lalamove has officially launched its services in Davao City as part of its Mindanao launch. Recognizing Davao’s scale, its growing base of local businesses, and its role as the region’s commercial center, the expansion aims to support everyday Davaoeños, the growth of local SMEs, and create new income opportunities for partner drivers.
As the largest city in the country by land area, Davao’s size is both its strength and its challenge. Moving goods from Toril to Lanang, or from Bankerohan to Buhangin, on short notice remains difficult, and the city still has no single, dependable platform for fast, door-to-door delivery. Lalamove’s entry is designed to close this gap.
Lalamove is an on-demand platform that lets users book a delivery or a ride using an app on their smartphone. It entered the Philippines in 2016, growing since then into a network spanning 18 markets across Asia, the Americas, and Europe, but Mindanao has, until now, been untouched.
Lalamove is launching across Davao, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Bukidnon, Butuan, Iligan, Pagadian, and Dipolog. The rollout also comes alongside a wider Visayas expansion beyond Cebu — where Lalamove has operated since 2022 and introduced ride-hailing in 2025 — reaching Panay and Negros.
“We’re excited to finally bring Lalamove to the communities of Mindanao, and Davao especially. Davao City’s MSMEs have been going digital fast, moving to QR payments and online selling. On-demand delivery gives local businesses a simple way to serve more customers without opening another branch, while giving drivers a way to earn. We wanted to be part of that growth,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director, Lalamove Philippines.
A City Built for Movement
Davao is one of Mindanao’s most dynamic urban economies. Every day, goods move across the city, from hardware in Agdao and online orders in Matina to produce from Bankerohan headed to stalls across town. Short-notice delivery, however, still depends largely on informal arrangements, such as a familiar habal-habal driver, a favor from a friend, or making the trip oneself.
Business activity continues to expand. In January 2026 alone, over 45,000 businesses applied for permits in Davao City, each one a potential source of daily deliveries.
Lalamove is introducing its on-demand delivery services to meet the needs of both individuals and businesses. Key features include:
· Instant, on-demand delivery bookings through an easy-to-use app
· Real-time tracking
· Multiple vehicle options based on load size
· Parcel insurance of up to ₱75,000, regardless of vehicle type
Flexible Earning Opportunities for Partner Drivers
Driving is an established livelihood in Davao. The expansion builds on that existing culture, creating new income for local vehicle owners and drivers.
Lalamove supports its partner drivers with medical e-consultations, fuel discounts, emergency roadside assistance, and insurance protection covering accidents, permanent disablement, and death.
Driver and vehicle registration is already underway.
What Davao’s Been Waiting For
Davao continues to grow, with more businesses opening and more goods that need to move. While delivery options exist, no single platform has yet become the preferred choice. Lalamove aims to be the platform Davaoeños turn to first.
The Lalamove app is available for download. Aspiring partner drivers may register at lalamove.com/en-ph/driver. For more information, follow Lalamove Philippines on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
