HONOR X5c Plus: The Entry-Level Smartphone Every Reliability Hunter Needs5 min read

Every time I review a gadget, like a marketer, I first think about its target demographic. And for HONOR X5c Plus, HONOR’s latest entry-level smartphone, mothers, grandmothers, children, and even adults and teens looking to get an affordable but reliable smartphone come to mind.

Describing that particular demographic comes easy, as I have a neighbor whose device habits I know inside out. Let’s call her Miss Mabel.

One thing I notice about Miss Mabel is that she is not one who checks her phone all the time. She only occasionally opens her Facebook account and watch one to two Youtube videos in a week at most (she prefers listening to the radio). Her main use for a smartphone is to call, text, or use Facebook Messenger for communication. Hence, what happens is that she often forgets that her phone has run out of battery. And HONOR X5c Plus’s massive 5260mAh battery is its edge. Imagine not having to charge it for two days with moderate usage.

Another primary thing that would concern Miss Mabel, who’s almost in her senior years, is her eyes, which are one of the reasons why she’s not fond of using smartphones. But what’s great about HONOR X5c Plus is its Eye Comfort Technology & Dynamic Dimming. Just mentioning that feature would make Miss Mabel get this phone. I can’t wait to tell her.

Of course, despite the limited usage of our key demographic like Miss Mabel, it’s automatic that they would want a smartphone with a camera, and HONOR X5c Plus’s 50MP/5MP camera + 1080P video recording + 10x digital zoom are truly a part of the steal, given how affordable this phone is. Miss Mabel would be more than happy about that.

Miss Mabel could care less about the phone’s software, but with its 4GB ram + 128GB internal storage running on MediaTek Helio G81, I bet I she would enjoy puzzle, word, or arcade games now and then.

What could definitely pique Miss Mabel’s interest is the ethereal colors of HONOR X5c Plus. I bet she would fall in love with either the ocean cyan or the meteor silver at first sight, because I did. Its 6.74-inch display is also apt, given her eye concerns, so it would be easier for her to type and read. At just 186g, she would want to bring it with her during errands.

Overall, HONOR X5c Plus is a good entry-level phone for people who have almost the same tech habits as my neighbor Miss Mabel. As reliability hunters, they would love every feature and use of the smartphone.

Finally, the HONOR X5c Plus is a bang for the buck at just ₱6,999, or less, depending on promos and discounts. It’s available at all HONOR Stores nationwide or at HONOR’s official Shopee store.
