The Little Box of Mindful Meditations Cards Review
For someone who has embraced the esoteric lifestyle for over 12 years, I am quite subtle. Since esotericism and spirituality are uncommon amongst my peers and perhaps in the society I’m surrounded by, I have refrained from speaking about it. Otherwise, I might be the subject of ridicule or at least a condescending smirk.
Now, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to blog more about my spiritual journey. But as mentioned, I still have to contemplate doing so deliberately for the reasons above. Nevertheless, I took the first steps by blogging about getting into crystals and being more grateful.
Spiritual Guide: Oracle Cards
I have been buying Oracle cards for some time now, and I keep adding to my collection. While they greatly damage my spending budget and consumerist lifestyle, I am quite fond of them because they help me navigate the intricacies of life. Honestly, I have increasingly learned a lot from life, especially in the past five years when my Saturn return decided to extend and pushed my limits further than I expected. And yes, Oracle cards have been guiding me.
There are different Oracle cards. Some are for love, money, and careers. Some contain spells, affirmations, and meditations. On the other hand, Tarot cards have a fixed meaning and representations that must be studied well to be an expert in reading your and another person’s channeled messages.
Think about a scientific book for daily or weekly experiments to try. You pick one page in the book and execute it. It’s pretty much the same with Oracle cards. Using them, you can do your own reading, follow the instructions of the card you picked from the deck, or simply get inspired by it. Some Oracle cards imitate the purpose of Tarot cards of answering questions; Oracles are less complex. If you want more in-depth and honest answers, Tarot cards are the way to go. Oracle cards offer hobbyists inspiration and, yes, sometimes, just spiritual-related stuff to do. It has the same purpose as journaling; it gets you out of your head to relax, breathe, get creative, or affirm positive things to yourself.
Introducing The Little Box of Mindful Meditations cards + Review
I was browsing the books at the annual Big Bad Wolf book fair in my city when I stumbled upon this simple, aesthetically pleasing box of cards. I wasn’t sure if I should get it, given that I had spent a considerable amount of money on the bazaar the first time I visited. However, my friend Gem surprised me: he bought the card set for me as a Christmas gift! I’m so thankful.
This little box is not considered an Oracle card, but it has the same function. As the package says, The Little Box of Mindful Meditations card set has 52 cards with simple steps to calm your mind.
Inside the box are 52 back-to-back cards, a 16-page guidebook, and a wooden card stand (perfect to put on your desk). The cards are aesthetically pleasing, and their art and colors induce calmness, as promised. It was love at first open. Each card is quite huge; I can barely shuffle it, but that’s to its advantage because it looks so good when you display it on its card holder.
Each card contains practices you can do every day, every week, or whenever you feel like picking one. An example is when you pick the card about thinking about the positive things in your life and breathing it in and out. Imagine how your day would look like after picking that card.
Another card is about forgiveness. It’s not easy to implement for most of us, but we know deep in our hearts that it’s the best thing to do to free ourselves. Whether you choose to forgive those who hurt you or not, the card is there as a reminder to do so, or at least to try to do so, one step at a time.
Another great thing about the Little Box of Mindful Meditations is that I can share my card pick with friends and people who follow my social media. It is super worth it. It’s also back-to-back. So, to avoid running out of cards to feature, I also plan to share what’s written on the back. It has inspirational quotes, affirmations, and lessons that enlighten whoever reads it.
Like extreme Christian beliefs that discuss the near doom of our world, believers opt out of speaking about those issues in typical work and organizational settings, but their believers outnumber esoteric practitioners like me. In fact, I only have one or two real friends using the Co-Star app, a Western Astrology app on the advanced side, giving advice daily based not only on your Sun sign but every sign assigned to you at birth. However, the Little Box of Mindful Meditations card set is for everyone. Whatever religion or belief you ascribe to, each card is relatable; it is universal.
Every daily card pick surprised me because I did not read all 52 cards. The truth is, it’s hard to use the card every day and to implement every card instruction. I realized that it’s better to pick a card and do what it says every three days. Some of its suggestions are not very easy to do. For example, the card suggests color therapy. Some of my followers may not be able to do it right away due to a lack of time or resources (they might not have a coloring book on hand). Regardless, the deck did not suggest picking a card every day anyway. It’s really up to the user.
Sometimes, I don’t get to pick a card because of a tight-pack schedule. Hence, some of my friends wondered why I didn’t share a card for a day because they were looking forward to it.
Conclusion
I think I’ve provided enough pictures and descriptions for the card, and you can see its contents. What’s there to critique about it? I’m so lucky to be given it as a Christmas gift from my friend Gem. Like his name, it’s truly a treasure to behold.
You can get the deck on Amazon. Otherwise, follow me on my Instagram to see which card I picked for us every three days. See you there!
